Anna Protopapas is a life sciences executive with significant experience in building companies through strategic partnerships and acquisitions.
As a senior vice president of strategy and business development for over a decade at Millennium Pharmaceuticals, she led the formation of partnerships that raised well over $2 billion and transformed the company from an early stage genomics technology company to a leading cancer focused product company ultimately selling the company to Takeda for $8.8 billion acquisition. As an executive vice president at Takeda, she spearheaded the development and implementation of a business development strategy that resulted in six acquisitions and multiple partnerships totaling $15 billion that were critical catalysts to Takeda’s globalization and growth momentum.
Anna holds an MBA from Stanford Business School, a Masters in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor in Engineering from Princeton University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude.
She is a native of Cyprus and moved to the US to attend college. She lives in Boston with her husband and three children.
