This is the 3rd edition of the MITEF Greece Startup Competition, an acceleration program that aims to identify promising Greek technology startups and accelerates them to the global market.
The program started with the application period late last year, continued with a 3 month semifinal round, that included an intensive program of workshops and mentoring, and concluded on Thursday, 6th of July, with the 10 finalists’ live presentations to the well respected judging panel, that selected the winner and 2 runner ups for 2017. Between the mentors of MITEF Greece Startup Competition 2017 were many successful entrepreneurs, investors, partners at venture capital firms or experienced angel investors, partners at law firms, senior executives from established enterprises with domain experience and technical experts, who shared their critical knowledge in determining the best of the best of Greece’s startup community.

Key Dates & Deadlines
First round: Online application portal opened to eligible teams or companies, on October 28, 2016. Applications’ Deadline was on December 30, 2016. By the end of January, 2015 the judges selected the top 25 entries. Semifinalists were individually notified and advanced to the second round.
Second Round: From February 2, 2017 till May 6, 2017 the 25 semifinalist startups refined all aspects of their venture, during this intensive period, with access to mentors, training workshops, marketing, and media exposure – by local and international partners. The judging of the 2nd round was done through live presentations and the result was the top 10 teams that proceeded to the finals.
Final Judging & Award Ceremony: The top 10 finalists got on stage on July, 6th, 2017, to pitch live to a high-profile panel of judges, which selected the winner and 2 runner ups. All winners and participants of the MITEF Greece Startup Competition were celebrated.
