Head of Technology Transfer Program Office, European Space Agency, Innovation & Entrepreneurship
Frank is Head of ESA’s Technology Transfer Programme Office (TTPO).
The TTPO provides space solutions – from space down to Earth, promoting repurposing of space technology in completely new fields of application.
In his role, Frank has supported over 320 interdisciplinary technology transfers and over 400 new start-ups across ESA’s 16 Business Incubation Centres (BICs).
Prior to this post he was the Head of Commercial Development in European Astronaut Department of ESA’s Directorate of Human Spaceflight Microgravity and Exploration.
Before joining ESA, Frank held the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO and CFO) at an IT start-up headquartered in Munich, Germany.
He also spent seven years with Apple Computer, initially as an account manager and later as a sales manager covering central Europe.
He holds a degree in Graduated Industrial Engineering, and is genuinely passionate about the importance of human space flight and the European space programme, saying ‘a society that stops exploring, stops progressing’.
Frank is member of the advisory board of the Triangle Venture Capital Group, the board of directors of European Business Network (EBN).
