Postdoctoral Associate, MIT-SUTD Collaboration
Stella is from Athens, Greece. She believes deeply that young people today should have access to quality education – something that wasn’t always the case for her, when she was growing up. She went through the public K-12 education in Athens, Greece. After graduating from high school, she attended the School of Communications and Mass Media at the University of Athens. With a strong desire to experience world-class education, she went to the U.S. where she did a Master’s at Cornell and a Ph.D. at MIT, both in organizational behavior.
In Stella’s current role as a postdoctoral associate with the MIT-SUTD Collaboration, her job is to transfer the MIT culture and know-how in the area of student life to the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD).
An additional area of focus is educational technologies. She strongly believes that technology can revolutionize education. In her research, she looks at online education and new certification methods such as online badges. Beyond that, she reads extensively and stays up-to-date with a broad range of educational technologies. She shares the news she reads with the Facebook group “Greek Entrepreneurs and Innovators in Education.”
