Professional experience

Husam M. Walwil is the co-founder of ConCure Co., a startup company in the construction field. Also, Husam is currently working as a Startup Executive for the Technology Transfer Innovation and Entrepreneurship Sector at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, a position he has held since February, 2014. He teaches students and faculty the principles of design thinking and prototyping. His job also entails mentoring students, screening ideas, planning and executing entrepreneurship courses, events and forums, designing material for courses and the incubation program, and developing entrepreneurial mindset evaluation surveys.

Husam has trained with and been exposed to many entrepreneurship incubation and education programs from top USA incubators and universities such as Pennsylvania State University, Penn State University, Babson College, Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering, and the Nashville Entrepreneur Center.

Further, Husam has over four years’ experience in the field of photovoltaic (PV) module performance and surface engineering for solar module applications at KFUPM. He gained his experience through participation in several training courses, both in the USA and in KSA, namely the Center for Nanoscale Systems (CNS), Harvard, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and Fraunhofer ISE. His research profile includes several published and submitted papers in highly esteemed journals, three filed US patents, as well as several conference papers and presentations. Also, Husam completed a summer Internship at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA, in surface engineering and adhesion mechanisms.

In January 2014, Husam earned his M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from King Fahd Universityof Petroleum and Minerals in Dhahran, KSA, and received his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Birzeit University, Palestine, in 2011.
