Maria-Lisa Farmakidis is a founding member of the MIT Enterprise Forum of Greece. She most recently worked on the stress-testing of the Southern European Banking sectors with BlackRock and PIMCO. In parallel, Maria-Lisa invests in European Technology Start-ups in the Software sector.
Maria-Lisa built the Technology Debt Capital Markets practice for Deutsche Bank in North America. She executed transactions for large cap technology companies such as Dell, Hewlett Packard and Cisco and worked on major acquisition financings related to the shift in focus from the Hardware to the Business Services segments. Maria-Lisa also advised technology companies such as Apple, Google and Microsoft on introducing debt to their capital structure and on managing their balance sheets. Prior to Wharton, Maria-Lisa held Marketing and Business Development roles with a technology start-up in London, book2eat.com, a European competitor of OpenTable.com. Maria-Lisa started her career with JPMorgan Private Wealth Management and worked in the New York, Geneva and London offices in Client Marketing and Product Development.
Maria-Lisa is a magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of California at Berkeley in History. She also holds an MBA from the Wharton School of Business in Finance. She is bilingual in English and Greek and fluent in French and German.
In her free time, Maria-Lisa enjoys traveling, film and exploring the new possibilities that technology has opened to the distribution of education and culture globally
