This is the 4th edition of the MITEF Greece Startup Competition, a business acceleration program that aims to identify promising Greek technology startups and accelerates them to the global market.
The program started with the application period late last year, continued with a 3 month semifinal round, that included an intensive program of 15 workshops and mentoring sessions, and concluded on Thursday, 28th of June, with the 10 finalists’ live presentations to the well respected judging panel, that selected the winner and 2 runner-ups for 2018. MIT Enterprise Forum Greece welcomed all qualified judges, who lent their critical eye and expertise to the MITEF Greece Startup Competition 2018, assessed the merits of entrant startups and provided valuable feedback.
Between the mentors of MITEF Greece Startup Competition 2018 were many successful entrepreneurs, investors, partners at venture capital firms or experienced angel investors, partners at law firms, senior executives from established enterprises with domain experience and technical experts, who shared their critical knowledge in determining the best of the best of Greece’s startup community.

The MIT Enterprise Forum (MITEF) Greece Startup Competition is a business skills accelerating competition in which Greek technology startups compete for prizes and international brand recognition. If you have an exciting new product or service, participating in the MITEF Greece Startup Competition will give you access to the practical knowledge, mentorship, and resources to take your venture to the next level. Competition winners are the best of the best in Greece and will receive global recognition through the MIT Enterprise Forum Global, a global network devoted to enabling early-stage entrepreneurs to transform ideas into world-changing companies.
Key Dates & Deadlines
First round: Nominations opened to eligible teams or companies on December 5, 2017. By the end of January 2018, the judges selected the top 24 entries. Semi-finalists will be individually notified and advance to the second round.
Second Round: From February till May 2018 the 24 semi-finalists will be assigned mentors and go through a carefully designed series of free workshops, such as Perfect Pitch, Legal Matters, Marketing, Finance/Tax, by local and international partners. The judging of the 2nd round was held through live presentations and the result was the selection of the top 10 teams that proceed to the finals.
Final Judging & Award Ceremony: The top 10 finalists got on stage in June 2018 to pitch live to a high-profile panel of judges, which will select the winner and 2 runner-ups.

MIT Enterprise Forum Greece is proud to announce the 24 Semifinalists selected to advance to the next round of the MITEF Greece Startup Competition. Participating companies/teams spanned a diverse range of disciplines: 7 in Software, 6 in Biotechnology & Medicine, 3 in Internet & Web, 2 in Computer & Electronics Hardware, and 6 in Other Industries (Agriculture, Fintech, Tourism etc). We are excited with not just the promise of these exciting new technologies, but also the passion of the Greek entrepreneurs who have participated in our competition.

Semifinalists have already started a 3 month period of intensive mentoring, with their assigned local and international mentors, and workshops, that will further their startup goals, such as: Perfect Pitch, Legal Matters, Marketing, Communication, Growth Strategies & Finance, Tax, Design Thinking and Human Resources, by MITEF Greece’s local and international strategic partners. Moreover, the content of this year’s program, includes learning material from entrepreneurship programs conducted at MIT and will be supported and facilitated locally by EY.
Following the conclusion of the second round of the forth MITEF Greece Startup Competition, MIT Enterprise Forum Greece announced the 10 finalists selected to advance to the final round.
