The MIT Enterprise Forum (MITEF) Greece Startup Competition is a technology accelerating competition in which Greek startups compete for prizes. If you have an exciting new product or service, participating in MITEF Greece Startup Competition will give you access to the practical knowledge, mentorship, and resources to take your venture to the next level.
Competition winners are the best of the best in Greece, and will receive global recognition through the MIT Enterprise Forum Global, a global network devoted to enabling early-stage entrepreneurs to transform ideas into world-changing companies.
First round: Applications will open to eligible teams or companies on October 28, 2015. The online application portal will close on December 30, 2015, at 11:59 p.m. Athens time. By the end of January, 2016 the judges will select the top 25 entries. Semifinalists will be individually notified and advance to the second round.
Second Round: From February till May, 2016, the 25 semifinalists will be assigned mentors and go through a carefully designed series of free workshops –such as Perfect Pitch, Legal Matters, Marketing, Finance/Tax, etc.- by local and international partners. The judging of the second round will be done through live presentations and the result will be the top 10 teams that will proceed to the finals.
Final Judging & Award Ceremony: On Thursday, 30th of June, 2016, the Finals & Awards Ceremony of MITEF Greece Startup Competition 2016 will be held at NCSR Demokritos as a pre-forum event for the 4th Hellenic Forum for Science Technology and Innovation. The top 10 finalists will get on stage to pitch live to a high-profile panel of judges, which will select the winner and 2 runner ups. All winners and participants of the MIT Enterprise Forum Greece Startup Competition will be celebrated.

MIT Enterprise Forum Greece announced last week the 25 semifinalist teams selected to advance to the next round of the MITEF Greece Startup Competition. Participating companies/teams spanned a diverse range of disciplines: 6 startups in internet & web, 2 in biotechnology & medicine, 7 in software, 1 in transportation, 1 in telecommunications, 2 in hardware, 1 in energy, and 5 in other categories. We are excited with not just the promise of these exciting new technologies, but also the passion of the Greek entrepreneurs who have participated in our competition.
We are looking forward to great things from the 25 startups (in alphabetical order):
Semifinalists will now start a 3 month period of intensive mentoring, with their assigned local and international mentors, and workshops that will further their startup goals. We thank our local and international strategic partners for running these critical workshops for entrepreneurs: POTAMITISVEKRIS, Foley & Lardner LLP, EY, V+O Communication, Korn Ferry|HayGroup and Plano & Simple.
During this period, participants will have a unique opportunity to improve their business skills, gain hands-on knowledge and valuable input, as well as network in Greece and abroad.
Following the conclusion of the second round of the first MITEF Greece Startup Competition, that aims to unlock the growth potential of Greek startups and maximize their performance in order to scale faster and reach the global market, MIT Enterprise Forum Greece, is proud to announce the 10 finalists selected to advance to the final round.
