development of Doxorubicin liposome injection (DOXIL). DOXIL is now approved worldwide for the treatment of ovarian and breast carcinoma. The company was
financed with Venture Capital, Private Equity and Corporate deals until it had a successful NASDAQ IPO in 1987; the company was acquired by ALZA Corp. in 1998;
and ALZA was acquired by J&J in 1999.
