Session 1:  “From research (lab) to market – Toward a Sustainable Energy Future

The workshop will open with a view of the various present-day alternative forms of carbon-free and fossil fuel power generation, including costs differentiation and benefits. Leslie will provide a look at the different nuclear technology sources and functions in comparison and lay a foundation that addresses the technical foundation of next-generation reactor technology, including small modular reactors and advanced nuclear reactors. Examine the potential for changing the dominant forms of power generation, and understand the ways to sustainably shift the world to carbon-free power generation.
